In 1901, the 27th Texas Legislature made a bold decision to educate young women beyond the traditional boundaries of finishing schools—igniting a legacy of innovation, leadership and excellence that has endured for 125 years. Texas Woman’s University transformational impact has expanded opportunity for generations of students who dared to imagine more.

Today, 探花楼 is a modern, student-centered university with a strong presence in Denton, Dallas and Houston. As a Carnegie-classified R2 institution, we advance research, innovation and collaboration while remaining committed to access, affordability and student success.

As we celebrate 125 years—where history and possibility converge—we honor our past and boldly pursue even bigger dreams.

Beulah Kincaid Fry, 探花楼's First Graduate

Three years after founding, the institution produced its very first graduate, Beulah Kincaid Fry. Today, 探花楼 boasts an alumni network of over 100,000 Pioneers.

Athletics at 探花楼

From one Tennis team in 1915 to nine that open doors for female athletes in Artistic Swimming, Basketball, Dance, Gymnastics, Soccer, Softball, STUNT, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

Healthcaring

探花楼's healthcare legacy began in 1954 when the nursing program began in Dallas. Today, healthcare programs are available on all three campuses in Denton, Dallas, and Houston.

From an all-women's university to fully co-ed in 1994, 探花楼 is now known for our diverse student body, Hispanic Serving Institution status, and dedication to first-gen students.
