Kerra Akanbi, PhD
Dr. Kerra Akanbi is a dynamic, results-driven organizational leader, scholar-practitioner, and equity advocate with over a decade of experience transforming workplaces through strategic inclusive leadership development, and high-impact learning. Holding a Ph.D. and Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, as well as a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Strategic Human Resource Management from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, Dr. Akanbi brings an intellectually rigorous and deeply human-centered lens to every organization she serves.
As the Founder and CEO of Curated Transformation Consulting, Dr. Akanbi partners with organizations across sectors to build operational infrastructure, drive meaningful change, and develop leaders equipped for both human-centered and AI-enhanced environments. Her consulting practice specializes in organizational assessments, change readiness analyses, and the design of transformative professional learning experiences. Concurrently, she serves as Director of Professional Learning and Organizational Development and HR Business Partner at Digital Promise Global, where she leads talent strategy, career pathing, competency-based performance management, and the company’s equity and belonging initiatives.
Dr. Akanbi’s career spans higher education, nonprofit leadership, and organizational consulting. As an Assistant Professor and Pre-Law Director at Maryville University in St. Louis, she designed and taught over 20 courses in political science, international studies, public policy, and social justice while creating interdisciplinary programs that advanced student success and civic engagement. Her scholarship and teaching reflect a lifelong commitment to equity, belonging, and the power of education to transform lives. A dedicated community builder, Dr. Akanbi is the co-founder of the McCorkle & Menes Social Change Scholarship, established to support and empower high school debaters in Kansas City. The scholarship honors the tradition of competitive debate as a vehicle for developing critical thinking, civic voice, and social consciousness, investing in the next generation of change-makers from the communities that shaped Dr. Akanbi’s own intellectual and civic journey.
