Kaye awarded endowed professorship

Texas Woman’s Reading Recovery Director Elizabeth Kaye, PhD, has been awarded the Billie J. Askew Endowed Chair in Literacy, made possible by a $1 million gift in honor of Askew by Ohio educator and philanthropist Gay Su Pinnell.

Myers receives award for outstanding teaching

Associate Professor Aimée Myers, PhD, of Literacy and Learning, was awarded the H. Prentice Baptiste Outstanding Teaching for Postsecondary Faculty Award from the Texas chapter of the National Association of Multicultural Education.

The Texas Woman’s Educator Preparation Program (EPP) in the College of Professional Education was approved as a Texas Reading Academies authorized provider.

Faculty, students and alumni from Literacy and Learning and Teacher Education in the College of Professional Education will represent 探花楼 at the country's premier educational research conference — the 2024 Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in Philadelphia April 11-14. 

探花楼 to host tuition-free Bezos Academy preschool in Denton

Texas Woman’s has finalized an agreement with Bezos Academy to open a tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschool for children of the university’s student-parents and Denton families.
