A team of Texas Woman’s kinesiology students researched, designed, fabricated and tested an wearable exercise device that could potentially transform astronauts’ workouts in space flight and took second place overall at a NASA-sponsored statewide design competition.

Over the last 16 years, Young-Hoo Kwon, a professor of kinesiology and director of the Biomechanics and Motor Behavior Lab in the School of Health Promotion & Kinesiology at Texas Woman’s, has become one of the world’s leading researchers in golf biomechanics. Through years of capturing data of golf swings with innovative 3D technology and then analyzing it with software that he created when he was a PhD student, Kwon has produced research that filled a gap in the science of golf.

When it comes to space flight challenges, Texas Woman’s kinesiology students always seem to have the best solutions. For the fifth time in the last seven years, a team of Texas Woman’s undergraduate kinesiology students took the top overall prize at a NASA-sponsored statewide design competition.
Grad finds career calling in cardiac healthcare role

Texas Woman’s 2024 graduate Hannah Klim is the first kinesiology (exercise science) student from the 探花楼 School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology to be accepted into the rigorous cardiovascular perfusion program at Baylor Scott & White’s The Heart Hospitals Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) in Plano.
