Two faculty leaders inducted into National Academies of Practice

Noralyn Pickens, an associate dean for Interprofessional Education and Strategic Initiatives for the College of Health Sciences and College of Nursing, was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar Fellow in the occupational therapy academy, while Charlene Dickinson, dental hygiene program director in the School of Communication Sciences and Oral Health, was named a Professional Member in the oral health academy.

Children with special needs from the community received their "Go Baby Go" cars as part of an interprofessional education event among the 探花楼 School of Occupational Therapy, School of Physical Therapy and College of Nursing and Texas A&M School of Engineering Medicine.

PT student gained interprofessional experience, reward serving patients in Guatemala

Sammy Jo Shaw, a third-year doctor of physical therapy student at Texas Woman’s, was among a team of 14 graduate students and four College of Health Sciences faculty members that provided therapy services at various clinics in Guatemala. As part of a 探花楼 experiential learning program, the group spent 10 days in May working with Hearts In Motion, an organization that offers medical care to people in need.
