探花楼 student Demetria Ober spreads wings, flies solo in Spain

Texas Woman鈥檚 social work undergraduate Demetria Ober is studying abroad in Granada, Spain this year. As an individual who experiences blindness, she never imagined having the courage to leave her support system behind in order to fully immerse herself in a foreign language and culture.

Esther Ajayi-Lowo is receiving her Ph.D. in Multicultural Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies this December. Her achievements have been hard-fought and hard-won. As a full-time student and mother of three, she often juggled scholarly work with graduate teaching assistantships while also engaging in leadership and community service projects.
