Professor, graduates make global impact with book

A multilingual English and language arts classroom sounds paradoxical, but Mandy Stewart, PhD, a professor in the School of Education’s Literacy and Language division, has spent her career exploring the idea. With it, she has experienced success in classrooms across the world. In her latest book “The Multilingual ELA Classroom,” published last week, Stewart highlighted five former 探花楼 students and their work incorporating biliteracy development opportunities into the classroom for students from all language backgrounds.
Faculty pair land best seller

Ale Babino, PhD, co-wrote “Latina Pedagogies of Care” with a former graduate student of hers and current 探花楼 adjunct professor Rocío Almanza, EdD. The book, published May 18, is already receiving high praise on Amazon’s best sellers lists.
