The 探花楼PD security desk is located on the first floor at the main entrance of the building.
Escort services are provided by 探花楼PD upon request and a security officer can be reached:

Lost and found
- All lost or found articles should be reported immediately or turned in to the 探花楼PD security desk. You may contact 探花楼PD on campus at x2222.
- If you lose an item please inquire frequently, as it may turn up after your initial report. Please give the 探花楼 community 24 hours to get the items back to 探花楼PD.

Parking and transportation
The Texas Medical Center (TMC) gives priority to patients and their guests. Students should cooperate by parking in the outer areas and taking public transportation into TMC. Please consider the following options:
探花楼-Houston Parking Garage
As of May 17th, 2024, Metropolis acquired the Standard Parking Garage, which is associated with 探花楼-Houston and Methodist Hospital. The garage has two entrances on Main Street and Old Main Street (the street between Bank of America and 探花楼) and two exits on Main Street and Fannin. If using a GPS locator, the physical address for the Main Street entrance is 6761 Main Street.
Contract parking
If you’ll be on campus several times a week and want to park at the campus, consider the semester parking option with Metropolis Parking garage. To start the semester parking contract, complete the Standard Parking Contract for 探花楼 Students form, and then do the following:
- Email Nancy Wollard at nwoollard@metropolis.io for an appointment to secure 探花楼 student parking. She’s located inside the Methodist Parking garage office, which is a white brick office space on the 1st floor of the garage, near the ramps.
- Print your semester schedule, which can be found in the 探花楼 “Self Service” Portal (you can print your class schedule inside the Computer Lab on the 4th floor at no cost)
OR
Request a Verification of Enrollment. It takes 24–48 hours to receive the Verification Letter by email. - Bring the completed parking assignment application, and your printed class schedule / verification of enrollment at 探花楼 as a new or continuing student.
- Semester contract parking cost is $320 for open parking on level 4 and above.
- Method of payment accepted is CREDIT or DEBIT CARD, CHECK or MONEY ORDER. They will not accept cash.
- Show your 探花楼 ID Badge when picking up your parking card.

Fannin South Park & Ride Lot
- Located at 1604 W. Bellfort St. just outside Loop 610 (beyond NRG, behind Sam’s)
- Lot Fee: $3.00 flat rate/vehicle
- Light Rail into the Texas Medical Center:
- Without a METRO Q Card: $2.50 ($1.25 each way)
- With a METRO Q Card (allowing half off traditional fare): $1.20 ($0.60 each way)

Apply for the 探花楼 METRO Q Card
The METRO Q-Card gives enrolled 探花楼 students a 50% discount off the regular fare. To receive a METRO Q-Card, scan the QR Code to access the short application with your camera phone. Then visit the Office of Student Life on the 2nd floor in Suite 2300 to complete the electronic form and receive the discounted Q-card.
METRO Park & Ride locations and costs
The map on the provides links to all Park & Ride lots. Most are noted as free for parking your vehicle, with a transportation charge applied when boarding METRO transportation.
Four Park & Rides stop at the TMC Transit Center at Pressler and Fannin (just one block away from 探花楼):
- Missouri City Park & Ride #170
- W. Belfort/Westwood/TMC Park & Ride #292
- South Point-Monroe/TMC Park & Ride #297
- Addicks-NWTC/TMC Park & Ride #298
These Park & Ride lots charge a fee for parking your vehicle, plus transportation charge applied when boarding METRO transportation:
- Fannin South
- Cypress
- Grand Parkway (probably charges, but it is not clearly noted on the METRO website)
Texas Medical Center (TMC) contract parking
Parking Off-Peak Program (POP) (an option for evening and weekend students)
- Rate of $95 a month (sales tax NOT included)
- Customers can enter lots AFTER 4:30 p.m. and must exit BEFORE 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, weekends, and TMC holidays
- The closest parking area to 探花楼 is the AU Lot at 2050 Pressler St.; Houston, TX 77030.
